Family Day 2007

Yeah, that was a location as exotic as it sounds, Isolo di Coco…Island of Coconuts. SPACE, as usual, picked out a winner when it came to choosing a location for the yearly Family Day. Words cannot do justice to the beauty of this resort at Poovar.

So amidst much fun and laughter and packets of Frootie and Lays, we set out with our spouses, kids et al to the cool backwaters, masses of coconut trees, lush green lawns, flowering plants, lovely buildings in typical Kerala traditional architecture…

We had some really boisterous indoor games, pairing husbands and wives to form teams, with a lot of running and scampering around, bursting balloons for kids etc. Some of the little tots entertained us with nursery rhymes. Afterwards gifts were handed out to all the children by Connell’s wife.

After games, it was time for lunch and my, was there a royal spread laid out for us! And the afternoon wore on with the boys playing cricket in the hot sun and the rest of us snoozing in hammocks under the coconut palms.

Then it was time for hot tea and snacks, and before we knew it, it was pack-up time. What a day - not sure if it’s the adults or the kids who enjoyed it more! And each RM ESI staff went home that night with a smile on their face, proud that we belong to a company which attaches equal importance to family as well as organisational values.
