Karichar Kids come visiting!!!

On 7 August 2009, students from the RM adopted school, Government Lower Primary School, Karichar (Kaniyapuram sub-district), visited the office premises in Technopark. Under the School Adoption Scheme in June this year, we had provided school uniforms to all the 111 students at the Karichar Lower Primary School. The Head Mistress, Mrs Leela, approached us after hearing about RM Education Solutions India’s (RM ESI) support to the Kazhakootam Government School since 2007.

This visit was organised with the purpose of giving these kids the experience of a world at the other end of the spectrum - a world totally alien to the one they inhabit. Many of these kids come from very impoverished backgrounds and hopefully, this glance into the corporate world will work as an incentive as well - of the bright opportunities that await them if they complete their education.

We’ll continue supporting the school in other ways - we have donated another computer system to their computer lab which had only two PCs earlier. RM ESI staff also plan to help out the students at the school by training them to use the IT equipment in the schools' computer lab.

Having the Karichar kids over was an equally enriching experience for all at ESI. You could see everyone eager to chat with the students and find out more about them. At one point, there were a few of the students who even tried their hand at coding :). Check out the picture gallery for more details!
