Mélange 2010 - Meet, Discover, Converge!
Mélange 2010 was announced in January this year, a HR initiative aimed at improving the wellness and networking quotients of all at ESI… and Mélange has been all this and more; a platform to meet and discover new things and come together as one!
The word Mélange is French and pronounced [mey-lahnzh] – which means ‘medley’ or ‘mixture’, and since January we’ve had an assortment of varied events. We started by inviting Dr Tony Lawrence & Dr Srinivasa B. M, Junior Residents at the Department of Community Medicine, Trivandrum Medical College to deliver a session on Nutrition, Health and Wellness at the workplace. This was followed by a lecture around Road Safety guidelines delivered by faculty from the National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC). And last but not the least, 3 speakers from the International Institute of Social Entrepreneurs (IISE) were here in ESI to share their thoughts with us on varied topics like women empowerment and disability.
The objective of Mélange 2010 was to help everyone get better acquainted with happenings in other Divisions; and that’s exactly what happened on May 18th & 19th! We provided stall space for each of the Divisions in order for them to showcase projects, technologies and best practices. The creative energy, presentation and effort put in by all teams was amazing, along with whole hearted participation from everyone across ESI. It was amazing to see Mélange come alive in ESI on those two days.
We had invited two external judges, Mr. Rama Rao (General Manager – Gemini Software and Mr. Krishna Kumar (Director – InApp) to adjudge the best stall based on criteria like Stall presentation, Knowledge of product/business and of course Team participation and involvement.
HR hopes Mélange 2010 will have definitely helped in improving your business knowledge and in the bargain, understand your colleague’s work better!
