RM donates Rs 8,50,000 to tsunami relief
The CEO of Technopark based company, RM Education Solutions India (RM ESI), Mr Connell Viegas on 11/01/2005 handed over a cheque for Rs 8,50,000 to Mr Oommen Chandy, the Chief Minister of Kerala, towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, to help those affected by the tsunami in Kerala.
RM ESI is the offshore development centre of RM plc, UK, and the leading provider of ICT software, infrastructure and services to UK education. The RM Group had decided to make this donation last week, to help the victims of tsunami in Kerala and had requested Connell Viegas to ensure the donation is directed where it can be of most help to the people of Kerala.
UK based employees of RM have also been encouraged to effectively contribute by making their own donations. The staff in India is contributing a day’s salary towards the tsunami relief fund.
Says Connell Viegas, “I really appreciate the RM Group’s decision to make such a generous contribution towards the tsunami relief fund. The employees of RM ESI are really happy at this evidence of solidarity and support shown towards us by our colleagues in Britain.”
RM has always enjoyed a reputation for being a caring company, and RM ESI has fully imbibed that spirit. Every employee who was not in office on the day following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami, received a phone call from the HR Dept, to verify that each member of the staff and their families are safe and sound.
