Director’s visit to RM adopted Government School in Kazhakoottam
To raise levels of education and to increase awareness about new technology amongst the economically deprived students in Trivandrum, RM ESI has announced a welfare programme for a government school in Kazhakoottam. The programme is conceived in two phases.
Colin WatsonThe initial phase of the welfare programme has already been accomplished with the donation of a public address system including an amplifier, speakers, a laser printer, dozens of chairs, thousands of note books, several sports and play equipment like building blocks, carrom board, chess kit etc. to the school. The second phase of the programme, which is yet to be implemented, involves sponsoring deserving students from economically backward families for their higher education.
To understand the implementation of this programme, Mr Colin Watson, non-resident Director of RM ESI and MD of Education Management Systems visited Government School, Kazhakoottam. Mr Watson met with the Principal and teachers to discuss the progress in education and the well-being of the children.
Distributing RM supported classroom materials, Mr Watson urged the students to study hard and respect their teachers. Speaking at this special event Mr Watson stressed on the importance of education for all as part of ensuring growth and development. His speech drew particular attention to issues facing the students from the lower strata of society, in getting into and attending school. The Principal extended his sincere gratitude to Colin Watson and RM for selecting their school for this programme and promised to make maximum use of the facilities supplied.
This project will be executed every year.
