RM ESI Scholarship Programme 2009

RM Education Solutions India (RM ESI), a Technopark based firm, invited applications for their Educational Scholarship Programme 2009, earlier this year.

The scholarship amount per candidate is paid in the form of college tuition fees by RM ESI and funding under the scholarship programme will be provided for the duration of the courses selected by the candidates. Applicants for this scholarship have to satisfy parameters like scoring 70 per cent marks for Plus Two examinations, securing or applying for admission to a reputed university/college, and also fulfil the 'Below Poverty Level' criteria in terms of annual family income.

We received 21 applications this year and 13 were shortlisted based on the above criterion. After in-depth interviews, 2 of the most deserving candidates were selected on the basis of their academic record, financial need, career plans etc.

Meet the 2009 ESI scholars:

Sijomon Joseph
Civil Engineering
The Saintgits College of Engineering
Pathamuttom, Kottayam

Prasanth S L
B.Sc Biotechnology
St Xaviers College
Thumba, Trivandrum

This is in addition to the five scholarship students currently being sponsored by RM ESI under the Scholarship Programme introduced in 2007. Every year RM ESI expects to fund two or more students and to keep adding to this number in successive years.

Connell Viegas, CEO of RM ESI reiterated RM’s commitment to education and society through his words, “RM is about improving the life chances of people worldwide - by delivering outstanding educational products and services that help teachers to teach and learners to learn. It would be a rewarding experience for us if through this scholarship scheme, we can make a little difference to raise the level of education in our state."

The RM ESI Scholarship Programme began in 2007 for funding the undergraduate and postgraduate education of children from economically backward families.
