School Uniforms and Shoes distributed

As part of RM Education Solution India’s (RMESI) ongoing School Welfare Programme, school uniforms and shoes were distributed to all the students at the Government Lower Primary School, Karichar (Kaniyapuram sub-district), on Monday 28th June 2010.

RM Education Solutions India Private Limited (RMESI), a 100% subsidiary of U.K. based RM Plc, is an ISO 9001:2000, ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1:2005 certified company based in Technopark.

The uniforms and shoes were personally handed over to the students by Iain McIntosh, RM Group's Chief Financial Officer and Chris Clements, Non-resident Managing Director of RMESI at a small gathering at the Karichar School on Monday. Afterwards, Chris and Iain interacted with the students & staff and spent over an hour at the school.

Speaking at this special event, Mr McIntosh urged the students to study hard and respect their teachers. He also stressed on the importance of education for all as part of ensuring growth and development. The Principal, Mrs Leela, extended her sincere gratitude to RMESI for selecting their school for this programme.

RMESI has been supporting local schools under its School Welfare Programme since 2007.

About the school

The Karichar School, being a primary school, has classes from kindergarten till Class 4 i.e. age 9. Majority of the students here are from extremely poor families; most of them get by with the free lunch provided by the school under the Mid-day Meal Scheme.
