ISO for RM ESI

RM Education Solutions India (RM ESI), the offshore development centre of RM Plc. UK, has been certified against ISO 9001:2000 standards for its India operations, thus achieving the highest level of certification available.

One of the top IT companies in Technopark, Trivandrum, RM ESI underwent an audit conducted by KPMG, an international certification organisation, providing professional management systems and certification services. The ISO certification was achieved within 13 months of the start up of operations at RM ESI and is the result of the total commitment to quality shown by all management and staff.

During the certification process, KPMG verified RM ESI's compliance with quality standards. KPMG conducted the final audits and recommended the certification. The audit determined the conformity and effectiveness of RM ESI's quality management systems, all of which met the ISO standards. The audit team found the application and implementation of the quality system at RM ESI to be "complete, effective and well documented."

ISO 9001:2000 denotes superior quality standards for all the departments concerned. The standard is based upon eight quality management principles - Customer focused organisation; Leadership; Involvement of people; Process approach; Systems approach to management;

Continual improvement; Factual approach to decision making; Mutually beneficial supplier relationships. In particular, elements such as the management commitment, the flow-chart application of process mapping, and customer involvement were noted to be an integral part of the business plan and processes.

Speaking on the occasion, Connell Viegas, CEO at RM ESI said, "This certification will further help us deliver seamless and effective solutions to RM, improving product functionality and enhancing the value offered to customers. According to the latest figures available with STPI, Trivandrum, RM ESI is now ranked among the top IT exporters from the State during 2003-04."
